the howard company logoV2It was more than 40 years ago when George J. Hayden Electric and Communications of Hazleton and Howard Organization of Bloomsburg launched their respective electrical contracting firms.

Over the years, the two companies shared a common philosophy – simple beginnings of hardworking owners with a dream for a family business to grow in the electrical construction trade while providing quality service to its customers and a great place to work for its employees.

Earlier this month, George F. Hayden, owner of George J Hayden, Inc., along with his business partner Usbaldo Trevino, Vice President of George J. Hayden, Inc., finalized the acquisition of Howard Organization, which marked its 45th anniversary in 2016. Howard Organization President Ralph Gitz and Vice President Joseph Graham said they considered several companies before selling to Hayden and Trevino. Howard Organization will be renamed The Howard Company and will continue to operate from its current facility at 1016 East 7th Street in Bloomsburg.

Hayden Electric President George F. Hayden said, “Usbaldo and I are extremely excited and humbled to purchase Howard Organization. Ralph Gitz and I have had a cordial, professional relationship for more than 20 years. We share common goals for the trade we love, our employees and our customers. We value our employees as partners in our success. They are our greatest asset. We value our customers and strive always to provide superior service at competitive prices. Usbaldo and I are excited about this new opportunity to join our talents and resources to begin a new company rooted in our shared values of integrity, employee satisfaction and professional development, and exceptional customer service.”

The Howard Company will operate as a separate company from Hayden Electric and will maintain the same operational procedures as are currently in place over the next few years, Hayden said. Gitz and Graham will remain with the company for the next several years and will continue to be involved with day-to-day operations and management of the business.

Hayden Electric was founded in 1975 by George J. Hayden from his home with a small crew of electricians. He worked diligently to realize his dream and grew the business regionally and nationally. His son, George F. Hayden, purchased the business in 2009 and continued to move it in the direction of growth and delivery of high quality electrical construction with a focus on safety and on developing highly skilled employees.

George J Hayden, Inc. and The Howard Company will share its resources to enhance their ability to provide their valued customers with a safety-first team of highly-skilled and knowledgeable employees, up-to-date, cutting edge technologies and professional responsiveness to customers’ needs on a 24/7 basis. The companies will pursue future growth opportunities both in the region and nationally which will provide jobs for area craftspeople, including management and support personnel, with no job loss for current employees as a result of the purchase.
